My name is Bernard Nicod and I was born in Bern in 1958. I grew up in Brig (VS). After primary and secondary school, I successfully completed my training as a photographer in Crans-Montana. Afterwards I spent several years abroad, where I worked for various press agencies, publishing houses and advertising agencies.

After returning to Switzerland, I worked for several years as a cameraman at Swiss Television. Later, I took over the management of the photo and video service in the federal administration. At the same time, I passed the examination to become a federally certified photographer.

With the rise of digitalisation in the 1990s, I built the first online shop for the federal administration. In 2001, I moved to Expo 02 and was responsible for its internet presence. After the dismantling of Expo 02, I obtained a postgraduate diploma in business administration from Bern University of Applied Sciences.

As an independent consultant, I worked on various IT projects for the public sector and private industry. In 2011, I founded sertal GmbH together with three partners. In 2018, the company was restructured. Since then, I have been the sole owner of sertal.ch GmbH.
